HOW TO BECOME A DONOR Sign up online TODAY to be a registered organ and tissue donor. www.doneVIDAcalifornia.org (En Espanol) You have the power to save or enhance up to 50 lives and it’s as easy as a click away. Now, the Donate Life California Organ and Tissue Donor Registry allows you to officially sign up to become an organ and/or tissue donor and ultimately save lives. You can also sign up through the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) when you apply for or renew your driver license or ID card. Either way, your name will be added to the Donate Life California Registry, assuring your wish to save lives will be honored. Your desire to donate is stored in a secure, confidential database, accessible only by authorized organ and tissue recovery personnel. The benefits to your and your family: 1. When you sign through the DMV, a pink donor dot will be printed on your license or identification card. No more stickers to worry about! 2. When you sign up online, you'll be able to specify what you wish to donate, as well as send an email to family and friends sharing your decision to give life. 3. Your family will be provided proof of your donor registration at the hospital so that your life-saving wishes can be fulfilled.
